Honored and humbled to have given a speech at the award night of the Global Health Catalyst Summit 2023 – Lacy Hubbard
I’m honored and humbled to have given a speech at the award night of the Global Health Catalyst Summit 2023 last week. This is a yearly event that brings together leaders and changemakers from various sectors to catalyze high-impact collaborations for global cancer care development. This year’s theme was “US Cancer Moonshot 2.0: Win-win collaborations to extend the US Cancer Moonshot globally.”
I presented our Rewanda project experience with Dr. Christian Ntizimira, our partner from Rwanda. We showed how a meaningful public-private partnership can make a big impact and how important it is to provide end-to-end cancer care from screening, treatment, and palliative care to local communities. As I said in my speech, this is our vision: “Together, we can create a world worth living in for these women, not only in Rwanda but in all underserved countries.”
I want to thank the organizers of the event, particularly Wil Ngwa and the University of Pennsylvania, for this amazing opportunity and congratulate all the award winners for their outstanding contributions to global health. I’m grateful to be part of this community of changemakers making a difference in the world. –Lacy Hubbard
