“Incredible India!
It was wonderful to visit India and our AstraZeneca India teams there. This was my first work visit to India after 10 years and I was awe struck with the pace of innovation and the transformation in Oncology landscape.
We are at an important inflection point as there is an increasing cancer burden that will be faced by the Oncology community in India. There has been substantial growth and infrastructure investment to support greater patient access and clinical care.
At AstraZeneca we are committed through our Oncology teams to support research, clinical advances and partnership across the Oncology continuum to help address the growing cancer burden.
We have already made substantial strides under the leadership of Dr. Sanjeev Panchal and Praveen Rao Akkinepally and our Oncology teams and will continue to drive greater support at a local and global level to accelerate the innovation and collaboration that is needed to ensure we are prepared for growing needs.
I want to thank our incredible teams at AZ India for their commitment, determination and purpose driven efforts. We have more than 5,000 employees across our company based in India, who are making a difference and it was wonderful to see them in action and see the growth that we are driving in bringing the incredible talent across India to support our ambition.
