“We will keep our foot on the gas!
This was the resounding response from our lung cancer research team, supported by a funded R01, upon learning that our NCI funding has been approved for another year. While there is a budget cut, the continuation of funding ensures that we can keep making progress.
This news brings both relief and excitement. Scientists are well acquainted with frustration and setbacks—it is the nature of research to probe in the dark, often without immediate answers.
In such a landscape, even small victories are deeply meaningful. This moment serves as a powerful boost to our morale, reaffirming our dedication to the work ahead.
I am incredibly grateful.”
