Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu was honored with the Pioneer Supporter recognition from HFN
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, UICC President-Elect of 2024-2026, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I was recently honoured with an award from the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN) during their courtesy visit to us at Medicaid Cancer Foundation.
Receiving the Pioneer Supporter recognition, as Healthcare Federation of Nigeria marks its 10th anniversary, is a testament to our shared commitment to advancing healthcare in Nigeria.
Over 70% of Nigerians rely on out-of-pocket healthcare expenses and only 4% of the population is covered by health insurance. The figures are worse for cancer patients and this triggered our collaborative efforts to design and lobby for a catastrophic cancer health fund. This was eventually approved as the cancer health fund.
I congratulate my sister Dr. Pamela Ajayi on her successful completion of tenure and look forward to continuing our strong working relationship with Healthcare Federation of Nigeria through its new team led by the amiable Njide Ndili.
