Women’s Health in Crisis: The Hidden Toll of Cancer – ICC
“Women’s Health in Crisis: The Hidden Toll of Cancer
On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength and resilience of women worldwide. But we must also recognize the silent crisis affecting millions—cancer’s disproportionate impact on women, especially in times of conflict and crisis.
Breast and cervical cancer remain leading causes of death among women, yet access to early detection and treatment is often compromised in unstable regions. Disruptions in healthcare services, displacement, and economic hardships leave many women without life-saving screenings and care.
The consequences are devastating—cancer diagnoses delayed, treatments interrupted, and survival rates lowered.
At the Institute of Cancer and Crisis, we advocate for urgent action to protect women’s health in crisis settings. Investing in accessible cancer care, strengthening early detection programs, and ensuring continuity of treatment can save countless lives.
This March 8, let’s not only honor women’s achievements but also commit to safeguarding their health. Because every woman deserves a fighting chance—no matter where she lives or the challenges she faces.”
