Christian Ntizimira: How do we democratize palliative care in Rwanda?
Christian Ntizimira, Executive Director of ACREOL, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“How do we democratize palliative care in Rwanda?
For many, the term “palliative care” is still closely associated with death and late-stage presentations at healthcare facilities. However, this perception limits the potential impact palliative care could have on patients’ and families’ quality of life.
That’s why we recently collaborated with the Rwanda Arts Initiative to host a workshop rethinking how the arts can play a role in destigmatizing and democratizing palliative care. Together with Rwandan artists, we explored innovative ways to reach communities, open dialogue, and reshape public perceptions of what palliative care truly means.
Art has the power to heal, spark conversations, and change perspectives. Could this be the key to breaking down barriers in healthcare?
Share your thoughts – I’d love to hear from you!”
