The 11th International Symposium of the European Working Group on Myelodysplastic Syndromes (EWOG-MDS) and Severe Aplastic Anemia (SAA) in Childhood will be held in Berlin from September 18-20, 2025.
The symposium, titled “On the Verge of Malignancy: Cytopenia and Beyond,” will focus on bone marrow failure, myelodysplastic syndromes, and related disorders in children and adolescents. This biennial event will feature leading experts discussing the latest research and clinical advances. The hybrid format includes interactive sessions, educational modules by Young EWOG, and in-depth talks on the genomic landscape and therapeutic innovations.
This year’s scientific program will emphasize clonal development to leukemia, risk factors, and long-term consequences of therapy. The event is hosted by the European Working Group of Myelodysplastic Syndrome Childhood (EWOG-MDS) and Severe Aplastic Anemia (EWOG-SAA), a consortium dedicated to improving diagnosis and treatment for young patients with acquired and inherited bone marrow failure syndromes and predisposition syndromes to myeloid malignancies.
The symposium is free of charge for virtual participants from low and middle-income countries, with access extended for three months on demand.
Participants attending in person can also engage in social events and enjoy the vibrant city of Berlin.
