Lisa A. Lacasse: We are disappointed after hearing this announcement
Lisa A. Lacasse, President at American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Nearly two years after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released its proposed rules to eliminate menthol in cigarettes and all flavors in cigars, the administration/White House announced yesterday it will further delay release of final rules. We are disappointed after hearing this announcement. ACS CAN will continue to urge the White House to finalize rules ending the sale of menthol in cigarettes and flavors in cigars by the end of the year. The administration has an opportunity to leave a significant, lasting public health legacy, save lives and reach the Cancer Moonshot goals by finalizing these rules as written. We have also proudly joined 79 other public health organizations to show our support through paid advertisements in DC.”
