“ICCD 2025 Event Highlights – Speakers’ Quote Series.
Day 6 of the ICCD 2025 throwback – the series is almost coming to an end!
Over the past days, we’ve revisited some of the most powerful insights from the ICCD policy event, held on 4 February 2025 at the European Parliament. As we approach the final highlight, one thing is clear: cross-border collaboration is key to improving childhood cancer care and research in Europe.
Hosted and organised by MEP Andras Kulja MD (European People’s Party, Hungary) with the participation of SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) and Childhood Cancer International – Europe, this event brought together experts, policymakers, and patient advocates to tackle the urgent challenges in paediatric oncology.
Today’s key insight comes from Ruth Prof. Dr. Ladenstein, SIOPE Board Member and ERN PaedCan Coordinator, who highlighted one of the biggest milestones in European Reference Networks (ERNs) – ensuring that every Member State is covered to enable cross-border healthcare.
