Mikkael Sekeres, M.D., M.S., professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Hematology at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, is the new host of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Journal’s Cancer Stories: The Art of Oncologypodcast.

Dr. Sekeres, known for his insightful perspectives on oncology, will continue the legacy of the podcast while exploring personal reflections from clinicians, researchers, and others in the field of oncology.

In his debut episode, Dr. Sekeres reflects on taking over the podcast from Lidia Schapira, M.D., who has expertly hosted the show since its inception. In the episode, Dr. Schapira shares the origins of the podcast, her vision for the Art of Oncologysection, and the evolution of both the journal and the podcast. Dr. Sekeres also highlights the growing openness in oncology writing and the importance of vulnerability in sharing experiences in the field.
