“Congratulations to Jennifer Petruno, BSN, RN at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center who was the recipient of a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses this week. Her nominations spoke to her compassionate presence, scientific insight into human relationships, and the ability to make a family laugh during some of the most sacred conversations we have as nurses with families. Jennifer’s nominations were powerful and reminded me of my “why” as an oncology nurse, as well as the book, Final Gifts.
