Steven Kridel: A day to spread awareness about cancer
Steven Kridel, Chair of the Department of Cancer Biology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today, February 4th, is World Cancer Day, a day to spread awareness about cancer. There are many questions about leadership, funding, DEI in science (and society), and how some portions of society view science. In these difficult times, we must keep our focus on those who are impacted by cancer, the patients and their families. Cancer Research and Clinical Trials are more important than ever and we must make sure funding and other mechanisms are in place, stable, and supported- for everyone!”
Ruben Mesa, President of Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute, shared this post on LinkedIn, adding:
“Wonderful Post Steve! Yes let us look today World Cancer Day to further double our efforts to Change Cancer As We Know It! Together through our Cancer Care, Cancer Research and Cancer Training we can decrease the burden of cancer for the Carolinas and beyond!
