Working towards more equitable and effective care from diagnosis to treatment – Lung Cancer Policy Network
Lung Cancer Policy Network shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Next week marks World Cancer Day. This year’s theme, ‘united by unique’, seeks to highlight the critical importance of person-centred care.
Everyone’s experience with lung cancer is unique and can be shaped by personal, cultural and economic factors. By ensuring care is delivered with a person-centred approach, we can work towards more equitable and effective care from diagnosis to treatment.
Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, and it is predicted to account for over 15% of the total cost of cancer care between 2020 and 2050. Ensuring a person-centred approach is built into the way care is delivered from the start can improve survival, outcomes and experiences for people diagnosed with lung cancer.
Discover opportunities to optimise care along the lung cancer care pathway.”
