Sandy Duarte: Rebuilding Your Life Bank – Trusting the Resilience Within
Sandy Duarte, Co-founder and Executive Producer at Anachronistic Pictures, author and creator of Cancer Ramblings, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“My latest newsletter just dropped! This edition dives into the concept of ‘Rebuilding Your Life Bank’—how to restore strength and resilience after challenges. Plus, I’ve included a fresh snippet from Cancer Ramblings, the book.
Rebuilding Your Life Bank – Trusting the Resilience Within
The following is a snippet from my new book Cancer Ramblings:
I found myself one night in and out of a deep sleep, aware that I was sleeping with a smile on my face and a word on repeat:
Rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, rebuild…
That word presented for me both opportunity and adventure, almost a dare to dive into life again and see what I am made of.
Rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, rebuild…
A word not so poetically sounding but oddly spiritually healing to me.
Rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, rebuild…
Dear Friend,
Life has a way of throwing us curveballs when we least expect them – whether it’s a health crisis, the loss of a home, or any of the other challenges that shake us to our core. In my book, Cancer Ramblings, I share a powerful concept I call “Rebuilding Your Life Bank.”
When life hits hard, it can feel like we’re drained, with nothing left to give. Our mental, emotional, and physical resources feel depleted, and rebuilding can seem overwhelming. But here’s the truth: our human spirit is more resilient than we often realize.
Whether you’ve temporarily lost your health or your home, the process of rebuilding is not about rushing to put everything back in place, but rather, about trusting yourself to take small, meaningful steps forward. It’s about filling up your “life bank” one day at a time—slowly depositing moments of self-care, hope, and love into the spaces where exhaustion once resided.
It’s okay to acknowledge that the journey can feel daunting and exhausting. But remember: this is a marathon, not a sprint. Rebuilding doesn’t happen all at once – it happens in increments. It’s about showing up for yourself each day, even when it feels impossible.
As I reflect on my own journey with cancer, I see how essential it was to lean into my resilience and trust the process of rebuilding – body, mind, and soul. The foundation for moving forward is built on these small, steady deposits of strength. The path is different for each of us, but the capacity to rebuild is universal.
I hope my story and these lessons can serve as a beacon of hope for you or anyone facing life’s unexpected challenges, cancer or not. Rebuilding isn’t easy, but with time, patience, and a commitment to your inner strength, it’s possible.
If you’re ready to take that first step, I encourage you to trust the resilience of your human spirit and start rebuilding, one moment at a time.
A Heartfelt Thank You
I’m deeply grateful for the early support of Cancer Ramblings and for the wonderful messages of encouragement I’ve received. Your belief in this book means more than words can express.
By purchasing Cancer Ramblings, you’re not just getting a copy of my story—you’re helping me continue to spread love, light, and hope to others facing cancer and life’s toughest challenges. Each purchase allows me to share this message of resilience with the world, and for that, I can’t thank you enough.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
With love, light and gratitude,
Sandy Duarte.”
