Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus: Talent is universal, but opportunity not
Julie S. Torode, Board Member and Director of Strategic Partnerships at Institute of Cancer Policy, shared a post by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General at World Health Organization, on LinkedIn, adding:
”Great initiative to harmed the energy of the next generation of researchers and public health specialists. Hoping this will boost the integrated thinking needed to address the growing global cancer burden.”
Quoting Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus’s post:
”Talent is universal, but opportunity not. This is why as part of the World Health Organization transformation, we have launched Young Professionals Programme earlier this year, which aims to increase the representation across our workforce from the least developed countries around the world. Earlier this week I met up with the professionals who are part of the inaugural programme’s cohort. They shared their experiences so far at WHO, and their ideas on how to make the program stronger and more sustainable going forward. We aim to harness their collective expertise and enthusiasm to drive positive change and progress within the Organization.”
