“Thank you to Tamron Hall for allowing us to speak about the rising incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer and the significance of cancer screening if you have unresolved GI symptoms: constipation, blood in the stool, change in bowel habits, weight loss, etc., CRC will be the leading cause of cancer death by 2030; rising in annual incidence by 3% per year.
Serve as your own patient advocate and seek the help of a physician for guidance for unresolved symptoms. New cancer screening age is >/= 45 y/o. A colonoscopy can save your life!”

Cathy Eng, MD, FACP, FASCO, currently serves as the VICC Associate Director of Strategic Relations and Research Partnerships at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
She is the Director of the Young Adult Cancers Initiative at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and serves as Co-Director of GI Oncology and Co-Leader of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Research Program. She is also the Co-Chairman of the NCI Gastrointestinal Steering Committee and holds the David H. Johnson Endowed Chair in Surgical and Medical Oncology.
Eng’s primary research focuses on clinical trials for innovative treatments of colorectal, anal, and appendiceal cancers, with a particular interest in young colorectal cancer patients and immunotherapy for HPV-associated cancers. She has held various leadership roles in organizations such as ASCO, ECOG, and the NCI Rectal/Anal Task Force.
