Birute Brasiuniene: Welcome the new Director of the National Cancer Institute of Lithuania – dr. V. Peceliunas!
Birute Brasiuniene, Medical Oncologist, Head of the Department of Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute of Lithuania, shared a post by Lietuvos Respublikos sveikatos apsaugos ministerija (Ministry of Health Protection of the Republic of Lithuania), on LinkedIn adding:
“Welcome the new Director of the National Cancer Institute of Lithuania – Dr. V. Peceliunas!”
Quoting Lietuvos Respublikos sveikatos apsaugos ministerija’s post:
“From 20 November, Valdas Pečeliūnas, associate professor and doctor of biomedical sciences, takes over the five-year term of office in the Nacionalinis vėžio institutas / National Cancer Institute (NVI).
He was appointed to the position of general director of the NVI after winning a public competition and approved by the founders of the institute.
Minister of Health Arūnas Dulkys thanks the interim head E. Janulionis for taking responsibility during the transition period and says that the emergence of an authoritative permanent leader will bring changes in the activities of the organization.
‘The institute has been without a permanent manager for a number of years, which leaves a mark on the organization’s activities. I hope that with the arrival of the new leader, organizational transformations will be undertaken that will strengthen the team, and the expectation is also to increase the tangible benefits for patients – the dynamics of cancer cases show that these health services are more relevant than ever,’ the minister said.”
