The new Damon Runyon-St. Jude Pediatric Cancer Research Fellowship will fund up to 25 fellowships over eight years – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude is teaming up with Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation to support top young scientists in their work to develop cures for children with cancer around the globe. The new Damon Runyon-St. Jude Pediatric Cancer Research Fellowship will fund up to 25 fellowships over eight years. The pediatric-focused fellowship aims to help the critical shortage of top young researchers who often seek more prevalent opportunities in adult cancer research.
“At St. Jude and elsewhere, we need the brightest minds working to advance our mission of finding cures and saving children,” said James R. Downing, MD, St. Jude president and CEO. “This incredible partnership with Damon Runyon will help support gifted researchers in their work to accelerate progress and develop cures for children around the globe.”
Each fellow selected will receive funding for four years ($300,000 total) to support an innovative project in basic, translational or clinical research with the potential to significantly impact the diagnosis or treatment of one or more pediatric cancers.
The application deadline is August 15, 2023, and a committee of experts will select the first class of Fellows in the fall of 2023. This is an exceptional opportunity for early-career scientists to contribute to advancing pediatric cancer research and join a community of passionate researchers committed to finding innovative solutions.
