“When BCRF investigator Dr. Suzanne Fuqua was diagnosed with stage 1 lobular breast cancer at the end of 2022, Research is the reason she felt confident she could deal with it.

Suzanne Fuqua, Ph.D., is a Professor at the Breast Center-Fuqua Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine. In addition, she serves as the Co-Associate Director of Education and Co-Leader of the Chromatin Biology Program within the Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Fuqua’s research is focuesed on advancing the understanding of breast cancer, with a particular focus on hormone receptors, hormone responsiveness, and gene expression profiling. Her work also explores the role of mutant estrogen receptors, the mechanisms of metastasis, and the development of predictive markers to improve outcomes for patients.
