The Second Global OncoThon: One Day. One Mission. One Global Effort.

OncoDaily, in collaboration with the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), proudly announces the Second Global OncoThon, a 24-hour virtual telethon dedicated to raising critical funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. Scheduled for February 15, 2025, in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, this global event will unite individuals and organizations across the world in a shared mission: to give every child a brighter, cancer-free future.

Childhood cancer is a leading cause of disease-related deaths in children, yet it receives disproportionately low investment in research compared to adult cancers. Despite nearly half a million new diagnoses annually, pediatric cancer is classified as a “rare disease,” which limits funding and prioritization. There are over 200 approved drugs for adult cancers, yet fewer than 30 have been specifically developed for children, highlighting a significant imbalance in treatment options. This lack of funding holds back innovation and slows the development of life-saving treatments, leaving children around the world without the breakthroughs they urgently need.

The Second Global OncoThon isn’t about numbers or statistics—it’s about real lives. It’s about the child who dreams of growing up, the parent who refuses to give up, and the global community that can rally together to make a difference. The Second Global OncoThon will be a day for connection, for compassion, and for action. It’s a chance for all of us to stand together and say: no child should have to face cancer alone. This is our moment to inspire change and bring the breakthroughs that every child deserves.
