“Meet The 2024-2027 Board of Directors. Please welcome.
AIEOP Board Member: Michela Casanova, MD Pediatric Oncology Unit, IRCCS Foundation National Cancer Institute of Milan.
A pediatric oncologist who has been involved in the field of pediatric solid tumors for several years, with a special interest in soft tissue.
Sarcomas and new drug development. She is an active member of the Executive Committee of ITCC Consortium(ITCC).
She has been ITCC Secretary and Clinical Chair of the Solid Tumor Committee since 2020 and was previously a member of the Clinical Trial Committee from 2010 to 2020.
Founding member of the European paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcoma Study Group (EpSSG), board member of the EpSSG and part of the Non-Rhabdomyosarcoma Soft Tissue Sarcoma (NRSTS) Scientific Committee and Phase I-II Trial Committee, and previous chairperson of the Phase I-II Trial Committee (2016-2021).
Member of the SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) annual meeting scientific committee and member of the International Childhood Liver Tumours Strategy Group (SIOPEL).
Within AIEOP she has been leading the New Drug Working Group since 2018, in addition to being Consultant for the Soft Tissue Sarcoma Working Group and previous member of the and Rare Tumors and Bone Tumors Working Groups.
She is also author and co-author of more than 300 scientific papers.
