“We’re coming up on the conclusion of the 18th annual V Week, a joint effort between ESPN and the V Foundation with one goal: To fund all-star scientists pursuing game changing research to achieve victory over cancer. Jim Valvano’s speech is still as impactful today as it was over 30 years ago which says a lot. Since then, the V Foundation has awarded nearly $400 million in cancer research grants.
I am beyond proud to be a part of this organization and witness firsthand the positive impact we’re having on the field of cancer research.
But the work is never done. As Jim said, ‘don’t give up – don’t ever give up’ and let’s continue to work together to bring an end to cancer.”
