Sara Sahli: Excited to continue advocating for Wisconsinites in 2025
Sara Sahli, Director Of Government Relations at American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Excited to continue advocating for Wisconsinites in 2025!
I’m honored to represent Wisconsin with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) as we work to advance critical policies that improve healthcare access, affordability, and outcomes for cancer patients and their families.
Our state priorities for the coming year include:
•Advocating for equitable access to quality, affordable healthcare, ensuring every Wisconsinite has the support and resources they need to thrive.
•Extend postpartum Medicaid coverage to 12 full months for new moms. (Wisconsin is one of only two states left to do this.)
•Work to eliminate cost sharing for follow-up breast cancer screening after an abnormal result or for supplemental screening for individuals who are above average risk.
•Passing copay accumulator legislation that removes barriers to prescription drug access and affordability by requiring all payments made by patients – directly or on their behalf – be counted towards their overall out-of-pocket maximum payments or deductible.
In addition to driving policy change, I’m passionate about empowering volunteers to amplify their voices in the fight against cancer. Advocacy is most powerful when we mobilize communities to engage in meaningful action, and I’m inspired by the dedication of Wisconsin’s advocates.
