“We have the great pleasure to announce the launching of a NEW COMPUTATIONAL ONCOLOGY FELLOWSHIP/POST-DOC opportunity at the University of Miami, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center!

This NEW position has been created to:
– Accelerate research and contribute to the understanding and treatment of high-risk multiple myeloma with an emphasis on the t(4;14) subtype.
– Generate innovative computational models that can help predict disease progression, treatment outcomes, or patient response.
– Foster interdisciplinary collaboration between computational scientists and translational scientists.

Next-generation sequencing has revolutionized our understanding of the multiple myeloma genome, providing unparalleled resolution that has unveiled a complex and heterogeneous architecture that can significantly impact clinical outcomes. This wealth of data not only enhances our knowledge of disease biology but also poses new scientific and logistical challenges. To tackle this complexity and develop personalized strategies, collaboration, large datasets, and advanced computational approaches are vital.

Our fellows/post-docs will have the opportunity to develop and utilize cutting-edge computational models to predict disease progression, treatment responses, and outcomes for individuals with high-risk multiple myeloma, with an emphasis on the t(4;14) subtype.

This NEW computational oncology fellowship/post-doc is a 3-year program which will begin in Q1 of 2024; it is positioned at the intersection of computational science and oncology. It is supported by a generous grant from the Myeloma Solutions Fund (MSF).

​​In addition to their primary projects at their respective institutions, fellows/post-docs will meet regularly in cross-institutional collaboration with fellows/post-docs at other institutions, with the goal to develop collaborative projects. Together, we aim to decipher the intricate data landscape and triumph over multiple myeloma. Sponsors/Mentors consist of (i) a ​computational ​oncology ​expert and (ii) a translational ​medicine expert in multiple myeloma.
