Lisa A. Lacasse, President of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, posted on LinkedIn:
“A year ago, the Biden Cancer Moonshot made history by ensuring navigation services – vital support that improves health outcomes and the patient experience – can be reimbursed through Medicare can be reimbursed through Medicare and, with the American Medical Association’s updated guidance, through private health insurers. I was honored to join an important conversation yesterday on progress made over the last year with my American Cancer Society colleagues, Shanthi Sivendran, Arif Kamal and Bonny Morris.
‘One important component to providing equitable access to navigation is advocacy,’ said Shanthi Sivendran calling out the important advocacy of American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) to increase equitable access to patient navigation in cancer care. We at ACS CAN appreciate the leadership and partnership with ACS’ Patient Support team to advance access to patient navigation services nationwide.”
