Olubukola Ayodele: A safe space for women to share their innermost fears and find answers to questions they seek
Olubukola Ayodele, Consultant Medical Oncologist at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, recently posted on LinkedIn.
“I love doing these breast cancer awareness educational meetings. It is usually a safe space for women to share their innermost fears and find answers to questions they seek.
The breast cancer survival rate in Nigeria is as low as 35% which is why it appears to be synonymous with death. I’m on a quest to change this narrative, one educational meeting at a time. We must arm women with the knowledge that they need because knowledge is power!
Educate one, educate all. These women will now take this knowledge they have gain into their own sphere of contact. This is how we will win this fight.
Early detection saves lives!
Thank you to the beautiful minds network and Adeola Obadan for facilitating today’s session. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to disseminate knowledge.
