The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) 2024

The SABCS 2024 (San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium) will take place from December 10th to 13th, 2024 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX, USA.

SABCS is expected to attract around 10,000+ attendees from more than 102 countries, including oncologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals.

This Symposium is designed to provide state-of-the-art information on the experimental biology, etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and therapy of breast cancer and premalignant breast disease to an international audience of academic and private physicians and researchers.

Jame Abraham, MD, FACP

Jame Abraham, M.D., FACP, is the Chairman of the Department of Hematology & Medical Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic and a Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Dr. Abraham is an expert in oncology, specializing in breast cancer research and treatment. He has contributed significantly to both clinical practice and research, focusing on innovative cancer therapies and personalized medicine.

In his role at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Abraham oversees the clinical and academic activities of the department, helping to advance the institution’s mission to provide comprehensive cancer care while also leading research efforts aimed at improving patient outcomes in oncology.

William J. Gradishar, MD, FACP

William J. Gradishar, M.D., is the Betsy Bramsen Professor of Breast Oncology in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. He is also a member of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Gradishar serves as the Director of the Maggie Daley Center for Women’s Cancer Care at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Gradishar is a renowned expert in the field of breast cancer, particularly in the development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of the disease. He has been a leading figure in breast cancer research and clinical care, with a focus on targeted therapies, personalized medicine, and improving treatment outcomes for patients with breast cancer.

In addition to his research and clinical work, Dr. Gradishar has been the Chair of the Annual Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Symposium since its inception, an important meeting that brings together experts to discuss the latest advancements in breast cancer research and treatment.

Virginia Kaklamani, MD, DSc

Virginia Kaklamani, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and leader of the Breast Cancer Program at the Mays Cancer Center (UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center). She completed her medical training at the University of Athens and her fellowship in hematology-oncology at Northwestern University, where she also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation.

Dr. Kaklamani’s research focuses on clinical trials with targeted therapies and identifying genetic mutations linking obesity and breast cancer. She is Co-Director of the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS), the world’s largest breast cancer research meeting. She was named San Antonio’s Top Doctor for Women and Top Doctor 2021.

Erica L. Mayer, MD, MPH

Erica Mayer is the Director of Breast Cancer Clinical Research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

She received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She then completed her fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and earned a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Mayer joined Dana-Farber and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2006, where she currently serves as Director of Breast Cancer Clinical Research. As a breast cancer medical oncologist and clinical investigator, her research focuses on novel therapies for the treatment of breast cancer.

Laura M. Spring, MD

Laura M. Spring, M.D., is a breast medical oncologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. She completed her oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital through the Partners Cancer Care Fellowship Program at Harvard Medical School, after finishing her internal medicine residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Spring’s research focuses on developing and leading clinical trials of novel therapies aimed at improving outcomes for patients with breast cancer.
