Anthony Zamora: Proud of Jessica Schmeling’s work on immunology research presented at the 2024 AACR conference
Anthony Zamora, Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, posted the following on LinkedIn:
“I’m incredibly proud of Jessica Schmeling for doing an amazing job presenting her research poster at the 2024 AACR Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy conference in Boston! As a Research Technician in our lab, Jess decided she wanted to challenge herself and take on an independent research project focused on identifying tumor- and T cell-centric parameters that shape immunogenicity and how these ultimately result in productive anti-tumor CD8+ T cell responses. Within a few months she’s already made some incredible discoveries, which have allowed her to share her findings at national conferences and she’s also been invited to give a talk internationally at the 52nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Immunology at the end of November! She has a very bright future in research!
I’d like to give a special thank you to Wayne Hickok, for helping us get our hands on some antigen-presenting bead (APB) kits on such short notice and the entire team at Bruker Cellular Analysis for supporting our research! People stopping by Jess’ poster were incredibly impressed by how well the APBs worked to expand neoantigen-specific CD8+ T cells!”
