Chelsea Mayoh: I was the runner-up at AIPS Next Generation Florey Awards

”Proud to announce that I was the runner-up in last night’s AIPS Next Generation Florey Awards! Honoured for my research to be recognised and a massive thank you to my supervisors for their help, guidance and nomination Paul Ekert, Mark Cowley. Congratulations to Luis for winning the award and the other finalist Yin. Had a wonderful time chatting science and I’m sure our paths will cross again.”

This award is conferred to a current PhD candidate who has demonstrated outstanding capability, creativity and potential in the biomedical sciences and/or health and medical research.
We’re so proud of your amazing accomplishments Chelsea and so grateful to have you on our team in the fight against childhood cancer.”
Chelsea Mayoh is the Principal Bioinformatic Scientist at Children’s Cancer Institute. She previously worked as a computational biologist at BC Cancer Agency’s Genome Sciences Centre. In 2015, she joined the Children’s Cancer Institute as the sole bioinformatician, where she established the Institute’s first Bioinformatics Group. She played a key role in developing bioinformatics tools for the Zero Childhood Cancer Program, creating the next-generation RNA sequencing pipeline to analyze the RNA of tumors in children participating in the program’s national clinical trial.
