The implementation of the Global Breast Cancer Initiative in C/Can’s Cities
City Cancer Challenge recently shared a post about their collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) to implement the Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI) in C/Can’s cities. Read the post on LinkedIn below:
“High-income countries have seen progress in reducing cancer deaths, but the need to extend assistance to LMICs is clear.
The Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI) sets its sights on reducing mortality rates by fortifying healthcare systems and empowering women.
With evidence-based approaches, the GBCI framework could prevent 2.5 million global breast cancer deaths by 2040.
To turn this vision into reality, the City Cancer Challenge and the World Health Organization are collaborating to implement the framework in C/Can’s cities.”
