Raymond Chan is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research at Flinders University, where he focuses on enhancing research excellence and impact while promoting innovation across various scientific fields. He also serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC).

Dr. Martin Harutyunyan is a medical oncologist and palliative care specialist who currently serves as the Head of the Palliative Medicine Service at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center in Yerevan, Armenia. He has been working as a medical oncologist at the same center since October 2021.

Dr. Harutyunyan has made significant contributions to research and patient care throughout his career. He has worked as a clinical researcher at the “City of Smile” Charitable Foundation and as a medical coordinator at the Union of Armenian Doctors.

Dr. Harutyunyan’s played a key role in the launch of a Palliative Medicine Service at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center.

Hi there, my name is Professor Raymond Chan. I am the Cheshirer on the Executive Board of MASCC, Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer, and I’m also the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia. A couple of years ago, MASCC launched this movement called the Supportive Care Ambition 2030 movement, whereby a number of experts, together with patient advocates and patient partners, together we developed 15 ambition statements.

I’m very keen to share these statements with you because we believe that we need to know where we really want to be by 2030, and therefore we can work backwards in terms of how we all together can play a part in realising these ambitions. Now they are hope, they are our dreams, and of course we need to plan our resources, we need to think about our strategies on how to get there. So I really hope that we can partner with MASCC in achieving these ambitions over the next few years.
