Breast Cancer survivor Donna Scott attributes her healthy lifestyle to her diagnosis – Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center
Gary Polakovic, Director of Medical Communications and Media Relations at Colorado State University, shared a post by Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, on LinkedIn:
“I support scientists solving the world’s toughest challenges, including curing cancer. I am humbled to work with experts and inspired by cancer survivors, including Donna Scott of Weston, Fla. Our team worked with the BBC to bring her story to life today, part of a broad tapestry of stories called ‘Rewriting Cancer’ showing rapid pace of treatments saving lives. It’s produced by BBC Storyworks and the Union for International Cancer Control in partnership with Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, among others.”
Quoting Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center’s post:
Breast Cancer survivor Donna Scott attributes her healthy lifestyle to her diagnosis. After finding out she had cancer in 2019 following a routine mammogram, Donna was introduced to Sylvester’s survivorship program, where she immersed herself in several activities.
Survivorship care goes beyond primary cancer treatment, offering a holistic approach that addresses the spiritual, physical and mental wellbeing of patients. At Sylvester, we investigate the impact of treatment, stress and lifestyle and translate our research into innovative care.
