“The motto of the second day of the congress is: As professionals in psycho-oncology we never look for or expect a ‘Thank You’. This is not what we have prepared for and, moreover, this will come as natural if we are doing with passion what we have to do. The main subject was related to EHealth and AI. It was concluded that AI is a useful instrument, but can it be trust?

AI in psycho-oncology is like in the case of music, for example: you can buy as many CD’s of your favorite band but it is always better to hear them live. Consequently, human touch and meaning of life remain the main questions to answer when we are talking about AI.

In the case of EHealth, things looks different in terms of how personal can the applications might become? Of course, it can help to bridge the gap by personalizing care but, again, what about Trust?

Patients want more and complex informations about their diagnosis and cancer care trajectory, not to mention the fact that they still need the face-to-face talks. To conclude, technology plays a tremendous role in our society nowadays yet, with regard to cancer patients the main issue remains: knowing or not knowing the real diagnosis?”
