The SIOP Global Health Network (GHN) is a collaborative initiative within the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP) aimed at improving cancer care for children and adolescents worldwide, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. The GHN focuses on addressing disparities in access to treatment, enhancing quality of care, and promoting research in pediatric oncology. It brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocates to share knowledge, develop resources, and implement best practices in pediatric cancer management globally.
About Shushan Hovsepyan
Shushan Hovsepyan is a pediatric oncologist and adjunct assistant professor at the Yerevan State Medical University. Currently, she is the Editor-in-Chief of OncoDaily Medical Journal.
She completed her clinical fellowship at the National Institute of Cancer in Milan, Italy and at the St. Anna Children’s Research Hospital in Austria Furthermore, she held a research fellowship position at the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer in Brussels, Belgium. She is a former co-chair of the SIOP Global Health Network Education and Training Working Group. Shushan Hovsepyan was Scientific committee member at SIOP ASIA 2023.

Education and Work
Shushan received her Medical Degree (M.D.) at the Yerevan State Medical University’s General Medicine faculty from 2014 to 2020. Since May 2023, she has been serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the OncoDaily Medical Journal.
In January 2023, she took on the role of Adjunct Assistant Professor at YSMU. As of May 2024, she also is an Adjunct Researcher at the Immune Oncology Research Institute in Yerevan. Recently, Shushan Hovsepyan is appointed as Innovation and Development Director at the Immune Oncology Research Institute.

From December 2023 to May 2024, she worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center. Prior to that, she was a Research Fellow at the Immune Oncology Research Institute from April 2023 to May 2024 and completed a research fellowship on patient-reported outcomes at EORTC in Brussels, Belgium, from July to October 2023.
Dr. Shushan Hovsepyan completed her Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Fellowship at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center from June 2020 to June 2023.
She also spent time as a Visiting Fellow at the pediatric oncology unit of the St. Anna Children’s Research Hospital in Vienna, Austria, from September 2022 to February 2023, and participated in a Clinical Fellowship at the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan, Italy, from April 2021 to August 2022, where her main focus was on pediatric sarcomas and rare tumors.
Additionally, she completed a postgraduate program in Effective Writing for Health Care at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, USA, from June 2021 to June 2022.

In October 2022 Shushan Hovsepyan was appointed co-chair of the Global Health Education and Training Working Group of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP).
The Group actively promotes the education and training of all health care providers and ancillary staff from resource-limited settings that participate in the care of children with cancer.
Shushan Hovsepyan is a member of the POEM Training Committee, the Writing Committee for the European Soft Tissue Sarcoma Group (EpSSG), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European School of Oncology (ESO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), as well as the Young SIOP. She also serves as a member of the SIOP Asia Scientific Committee for 2023.
