Michelle Mitchell OBE, Chief Executive at Cancer Research UK (CRUK), made the following post on LinkedIn:
“Researchers estimate that 9.3 million people in the UK have died of smoking since the 1960s. This figure also includes some of my nearest and dearest.
Every year in the UK, the four largest tobacco manufacturers make around £900million of profits. It’s time the tobacco industry paid for the damage it causes. The time for the UK Govt to act is now. Read more in my latest article.”
