Jacqueline Montufar: How important The Max Foundation’s work is in the lives of people like me

The Max Foundation shared on LinkedIn:

“Meet Jacqueline Montufar, our Program Coordinator in Guatemala since February 2019. Here’s why we feel lucky to have her in the Latin America team:

What is a special memory you have with patients?

At the end of my first meeting with patients, one came up to me and hugged me so tightly that I could feel her love and gratitude. She told me, ‘You can’t imagine how important your work is in the lives of people like me, diagnosed with cancer.’

What languages do you speak?

Spanish and English.

How do you describe your job to someone who’s never heard of The Max Foundation?

I work for an organization that helps me to be more human and sensitive to the needs of others. I work in something I am passionate about, helping people facing difficult diagnoses. The legacy of Max impacts patients, their families, and us as healthcare workers.

Describe a typical workday:

Morning: workout, shower, eat breakfast, get ready for the day
Check emails and plan priorities
Start top-priority projects
Focused work; meetings
Follow-up with program procedures

Lunch

Afternoon: work on analytical aspects of job
Follow-up calls to patients
Address requests from health care providers

Close day with a cup of coffee.

Which superhero is your favorite and why?

Batman, for his sense of justice and responsibility for others.”
