Sachin Jain: We find ourself at a moment of rebirth for SCAN

Sachin Jain posted on LinkedIn:

“When I joined SCAN 4 years ago, I was compelled by our founding story.
In 1977, a group of people we affectionately call the “12 angry seniors” got together to discuss the broken status quo of aging in Long Beach, CA.

They founded the Senior Care Action Network—SCAN—and set about to build an extraordinary set of service offerings to help keep seniors ‘healthy and independent.’

These remarkable older adults were—without a doubt—’rebels with a cause.’
Because they refused to normalize the abnormal.
Because they refused to believe that the nursing home was a final common destination for anyone growing old in America.
And so it began.
Some 47 years later, the seed of rebellion that they planted is now SCAN, a diversified healthcare company that services over 300,000 older adults through our Medicare Advantage plans and specialized medical groups with a presence in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.

And yet, we find ourself at a moment of rebirth for SCAN.
A recommitment to our founding heritage.
A recommitment to the word ‘action’ that so powerfully describes the agitas in our spirit.
And so we have a new logo to retire our beloved apple!

The beaming heart.
Crimson red in color.
With 12 beams to remind us of the 12 Angry Seniors who started us on this journey.
And somehow it still feels like it is just beginning!

Thanks to Paige Minemyer at Fierce Healthcare for telling the story of SCAN’s birth and rebirth and rebranding!”
