Kal Tsanov: I am accepted an Assistant Professor position at The University of Chicago
Kal Tsanov shared on X:
“18 years ago, I came to the US to pursue my dream of becoming a scientist. Last week marked a major milestone in this journey, as I accepted an Assistant Professor position at The University of Chicago, where I am thrilled to start my own research group in January 2025!
The Tsanov Lab will combine next-gen mouse models, functional genetics and multiomic approaches to understand and target the drivers and vulnerabilities of metastatic tumors, with the ultimate goal of novel therapies that are specifically tailored to metastatic cancers.
Equally as important, I will be dedicated to mentoring future generations of scientists and fostering a collegial, collaborative and inclusive culture of excellence, where everyone can reach their full potential while enjoying the journey of scientific discovery.
My deepest thanks go to my incredible mentors, colleagues, collaborators, sponsors and everyone who gave me a chance on the job market.
I excitedly look forward to joining the outstanding community at The University of Chicago who have already made me feel most welcome. Will soon start building the team at all levels – details to follow!”
