Elections have the power to shape the future of health care, especially for those impacted by cancer – ACS CAN
American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) shared on LinkedIn:
“Elections have the power to shape the future of health care, especially for those impacted by cancer.
The leaders we elect make decisions that directly affect cancer research funding, access to health care, the availability of lifesaving cancer screenings, and more. But it’s not just about policies—it’s about people. Patients, survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals are all directly impacted by the outcomes of elections.
That’s why on National Patient Advocacy Day, we’re working with Vot-ER to ensure that patient voices are heard loud and clear this election season.
This is more than just a partnership—it’s a movement. Voting is a critical social determinant of health, as it directly influences the policies and resources that shape health care access, quality, and equity.
When individuals and communities engage in the electoral process, they have the power to advocate for and support policies that address social and health disparities, ultimately leading to healthier outcomes for everyone. Together, let’s make a difference.
