“Our Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Wake Forest University School of Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center is 50 years old!
Today I had the great pleasure of celebrating the 50th anniversary of our National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the oldest in the nation.
It was such a delight to gather with colleagues and friends to recognize the longstanding tradition of excellence of our flagship program, now led by Ruben Mesa, and many other amazing individuals.
Discussions touched on our Center’s history, pioneering discoveries, landmark contributions to cutting edge care, and deep impacts in our community.
I was particularly delighted to welcome my friend and colleague Warren Kibbe who we were honored to host from the NCI and who made special remarks. I look forward to continuing our fierce fight against cancer over the coming years!”
“At Advocate Health, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist we are aiming for the cancer moonshot! An inspiring afternoon celebrating 50 years of NCI Designation.
