“Fantastic to host Owen Jackson, Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Policy Director and University of Leeds alumnus’ visit to discuss translating cancer research and innovation into policy and care.
Excellent round table discussion with Sarah Brown, Adel Samson, Mat Callister, Caroline Dalton, Danni Battle, Alistair Quaile and Juliet Jopson exploring the challenges facing cancer research and care including health inequalities, and how we work together to influence and accelerate policy decisions.
Followed by a brilliant panel discussion with Owen Jackson and Leeds experts Katie Spencer, David Cairns and David Meads discussing how policy decisions are made by Government, NICE – National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and the NHS.
Finally, an outstanding and inspiring talk by Owen Jackson sharing his fascinating and varied career path, and great Q&A session with our academic staff and students with valuable insights and tips for a career in policy.
Organised by Leeds Cancer Research Centre and Policy Leeds.”
