The number of cancer survivors is rising in the US
Yüksel Ürün shared a post on X about a recent paper by Emily Tonorezos et al. published in Journal of the National Cancer Institute, commenting:
“The number of cancer survivors is rising in the US (and probably globally too!)
- As of January 1, 2022: 18.1 million survivors.
- Projected by 2030: 21.6 million.
- Projected by 2040: 26 million.
We need to enhance long-term follow-up care and support for survivors.”
