Rahat Ul Ain: Let me share the “Hope story” of our darling little hero, Minha.
Rahat Ul Ain, Assistant Professor Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at The Children’s Hospital Lahore, made the following post on LinkedIn:
“Let me share the “Hope story” of our darling little hero, Minha.
She is a resident of Badgram, a breathtaking city of northern areas in Pakistan. In April 2020, she was diagnosed with kidney cancer (Wilms tumor) when she was just 4 months old. At the Children Hospital Lahore she underwent neo-adjuvant chemotherapy followed by nephrectomy (surgical excision of the whole sick kidney), and adjuvant chemotherapy. She also developed bilateral ptosis as a complication of chemotherapy but this little hero fought with all these challenges and completed her treatment successfully, Masha’Allah.
It was indeed a big challenge for her and her parents to come from Badgram, which is 600 km away from our center in Lahore for treatment, repeatedly for about a year.
Minha is almost 3 years old now, and aspiring to join the school soon insha’Allah. Her parents said that she loves playing with a stethoscope at home, doing check ups of all her friends and family members all the time, Masha’Allah. May Allah SWT bless her and protect her always (Aameen).
We wish Minha, our little hope ambassador, a very healthy life ahead and appreciate her parents and all other parents of children with cancer for their untiring efforts, optimism and resilience.
