Because of research, Grace was able to beat cancer and live out her dream of going to medical school. – St. Baldrick’s Foundation
Quoting St. Baldrick’s Foundation on LinkedIn:
”In May 2006, then 5-year-old Grace’s bouts of headaches led to a brain tumor diagnosis, specifically a grade III anaplastic ependymoma. Surgery successfully removed the tumor, and then she underwent months of radiation followed by physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Grace shared, “Growing up the doctors that treated my cancer served as some of my biggest heroes. The work I saw them do to save kids’ lives is what inspired me to go to medical school. I want to be able to make a significant impact in someone’s life by helping them become healthy again just like my doctors. It is important to me that people are able to live out their dreams without worrying about their health when possible.”
