“Speaker Spotlight – Vivek Subbiah joins us in New York
We are delighted to welcome Vivek Subbiah back as a speaker for the International Alliance for Personalised Medicine’s New York meeting during United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week, taking place on 23 September 2026.
Vivek has been a long-standing collaborator of ours, and we are always pleased to have him contribute to our discussions at the intersection of precision oncology, drug development and the implementation of innovation in clinical practice.
Following 15 years at UT MD Anderson and two years at Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Vivek has recently joined Stanford Cancer Institute and Stanford University School of Medicine, where he serves as Associate Director for Drug Development and Precision Oncology and Professor of Medicine.
At our New York meeting, Vivek will contribute to two critical parts of the programme: first, the opening policy discussion on when trade policy becomes health policy, and later as moderator of the session examining diagnostics, clinical trials and local access.
These contributions reflect a central focus of our work at IPM: personalised medicine does not operate in isolation. Its impact depends on the wider ecosystem connecting research, drug development, diagnostics, clinical trials, regulation, investment and health-system capacity.
In New York, we will examine how changes in MFN pricing, tariffs, trade policy and supply chains could affect that ecosystem, and, ultimately, the ability of patients to access personalised care.
