Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared on LinkedIn:
“On 4 February 2027, the world will come together for World Cancer Day.
For a third and final year, the United by Unique calls for people-centred care. It means looking beyond the diagnosis to understand the whole person, their lived experience, needs, values and preferences, alongside those of their families and communities. It means bringing these perspectives into decisions at every level of cancer care.
We’ve spent the last two years raising awareness about people-centred care, challenging existing approaches, and exploring new opportunities. Now it’s time to turn those insights into action.
The World Cancer Day campaign video, told through the voices of people with lived experience, casts a light on the diversity of experiences, needs and priorities, driving home how cancer is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come.

World Cancer Day 2027 will be observed on 4 February 2027, bringing together people, healthcare professionals, cancer organisations, governments and communities around the world to raise awareness and highlight the need for continued action against cancer.
Led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), the day marks the third and final year of the 2025–2027 campaign, “United by Unique.”
The 2027 campaign focuses on turning people’s experiences with cancer into meaningful change by putting individuals at the centre of cancer care. It encourages a more personal approach that takes into account not only the diagnosis, but also each person’s needs, experiences, values and preferences, along with those of their families and communities.
Key priorities include:
- Promoting personalised care: Addressing the medical, emotional, psychological and social needs of people affected by cancer.
- Giving patients a voice: Using patients’ experiences to highlight gaps in care and areas that need improvement.
- Strengthening collaboration: Bringing together healthcare professionals, cancer organisations, policymakers and advocacy groups to improve cancer care.
- Creating lasting change: Supporting more accessible, inclusive and compassionate cancer care systems worldwide.
