Stefanie Corradini: Developing an Interstitial HDR Brachytherapy for Gynaecological Cancers

Stefanie Corradini, Professor and Chair of Radiation Oncology at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, shared on LinkedIn:

“An intensive and highly rewarding week at the National Cancer Centre in Mauritius has come to an end.

Together with Johannes Knoth and Andre Karius I had the opportunity to support an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Expert Mission on Gynaecological Brachytherapy, working closely with the local multidisciplinary team to further develop high-quality image-guided interstitial HDR brachytherapy for gynaecological cancers.

What impressed us most was the strong commitment, openness and motivation of the local team of clinical oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists and nurses.

A sincere thank you to the entire team around Shaleena Chooromoney at the National Cancer Centre for the excellent organization, warm hospitality and open professional exchange, and to Soha Ahmed Salem and Sulafa Karar from IAEA for the opportunity to contribute to this important development.”
