Charles Mullighan delivered the keynote,
‘Toward a cure of acute leukemia through the lens of genomics.’
Plenary presentations included Noha Shendy, on transcriptional reprogramming in neuroblastoma; Mark Hatley, on the origins of rhabdomyosarcoma; and Alejandro Gutierrez, on new insights into drug resistance.
At the conference, Grace McKay-Corkum, Brian Abraham, Mohammad Ali Mohammad Nezhady, and Shendy presented research highlighting emerging insights into pediatric cancer biology and treatment response.
Abstract topics included chemoresistance in neuroblastoma, disruption of core regulatory circuits in rhabdomyosarcoma, immunotherapeutic vulnerabilities driven by ATRX fusion mutations, and therapeutic strategies for transcriptional reprogramming in neuroblastoma.
McKay-Corkum is a pediatric scientist investigator, and Nezhady and Shendy are postdoctoral researchers in the laboratory of Adam Durbin. Their contributions reflect the role of early-career scientists in advancing research toward more precise and effective treatments for children with cancer.”
