“Biomedical research has expanded the tools clinicians can use to understand pediatric disease, from molecular profiling and pharmacogenomics to new computational approaches. That progress has created a need to turn rapidly growing evidence into clear guidance that helps clinical decision-making.
St. Jude researchers are helping translate that evidence into practice by writing and updating consensus guidelines across pediatric diseases. Their work spans brain tumor diagnosis, pharmacogenomics, survivorship care and rare blood disorders, with a goal of helping clinicians translate the latest data into accurate diagnoses, effective treatments and meaningful follow-up care.
Kelly Caudle, David Ellison, Matthew Ehrhardt and Marcin Wlodarski are among the St. Jude experts shaping how evidence becomes action. Their work helps distinguish pediatric brain tumor subtypes, support genetics-informed prescribing, refine surveillance for childhood cancer survivors and build consensus for rare disorders where large clinical trials may not be feasible.
