“What does editing JGO actually involve?
Setting the journal’s scientific direction and deciding what it prioritises. Recruiting and mentoring an international editorial board. Commissioning reviews and special issues on the questions the field needs answered. Making the final call on acceptances, desk rejections, and appeals.
The Editor-in-Chief also works with International Society of Geriatric Oncology’s Working Groups and Tumour Task Forces on society-endorsed guidelines, and represents JGO at ASCO, ESMO, and the SIOG Annual Conference.
Applications and nominations close 25 September 2026.
